Bowel dysfunction is surrounded by misconceptions and taboos that may interfere with treatment and result in self-medication that could be harmful to patient care.
An objective evaluation of bowel dysfunction is important in order to provide consistent measuring, facilitate monitoring of disease progression, compare patients, and standardize treatment.
For TAI treatment it is important to have a measure of improvement, or not, of symptoms to encourage the patient to adhere to treatment. There is no one score that fits all; in this presentation, an overview of different scores used in the scientific literature is presented.
